Wildlife and jungle safari are the prime tourism products in Nepal. The country’s jungles are home to some of the most unique and rare animals in the entire world. The warm subtropical Terai region of Nepal houses such animals as Royal Bengal tigers, rhinos, leopard’s wild elephants, sloth bears, monkeys, crocodiles, and four kinds of dear and over 250 species of exotic birds.
The Terai region is home to the Royal Chitwan and Bardiya national parks. This wildlife parks were established to protect these endangered animals and the environment they live in. They are the premier places in Asia to enjoy a true jungle experience.
The Royal Chitwan National Park has 6 premier jungle resorts scattered inside its boundaries. These secluded resorts are the perfect place to experience the true safari atmosphere of the Terai.
All the jungle activities are just a step away and there's always a chance to spot wildlife. The resort offers individual cottages with a private bath or well-appointed luxury tent camps to stay in. You will be in the heart of the park surrounded by the soothing jungles of Nepal. The accommodations outside the park are more budget type guesthouses.

The Chitwan National Park is one of the best Parks in Nepal, established in 1973, where you can have a look of various species of birds, plants and animals including wildlife, flora and fauna. Chitwan is situated only 150m above the sea level, during the March-June the steamy covers all the way around. Whereas the short grass of Feb-May the best game-viewing season, but the autumn months are gorgeous with Himalayan views and in winter (December-January).
The Bardiya National Park is smaller than Chitwan but houses the same exotic animals and jungle environment of the Terai. Bardiya is more isolated than Chitwan. But this also adds to the excitement of exploring this jungle. All resorts border the boundary of the park and numerous jungle activities are possible. The resorts are extremely pleasant and enjoyable and offer Bardiya as their front yard.
There are a wide variety of jungle activities available in both parks. Elephant rides are the best way to explore the jungle and search for wildlife. Jeep safaris are also available for those who don't feel like riding atop an elephant.

Others might enjoy a jungle walk with an experienced guide who can tell you all about the wildlife and vegetation that is unique to the Terai region. Canoeing on the Rapti or Narayani rivers is a great way to see the many different bird species of Chitwan. And there's always the rare chance that you can see the elusive freshwater dolphins that inhabit the rivers. All of these activities are included in your jungle package.
The Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve can be reached through air, surface and river. The journey by air is just 45 minutes flight to Biratnagar from Kathmandu and then a mere one and half hours drive to the camp. Rafting down for 8-10 days, on the wild stretches of the Sun Koshi River is another exciting way to reach the destination. The third option would be the scenic drive through the meandering countryside road of about 500 km. That takes almost 10 hours from Kathmandu.
